The apartment is really starting to look like somebody lives here, and Joe is home.

Ikea

I went there. I now have a nice futon, a coffee table, two floor lamps, another bookshelf, and got hangers and light bulbs... for about $350. Boom.

Y'know how I was saying that yesterday was a supercharging day, after being at the beach those few hours? The trip to Ikea was AFTER unpacking all but 3 or 4 boxes. The entire apartment. Unpacked. Mostly put away. I ran out of room, and had to get more furniture to put it all away. It only made sense to get the rest of what I was planning on getting anyway, while I was there. It almost looks like someone lives here now.

Oh, and laundry... The last two loads are in the washer and dryer. That can wait until tomorrow.

Sunshine!

I went over to Clearwater to pick up my school portfolios today. Campus is just a few minutes from the beach. Scored big on multiple bits:

• parking in the hotel garage is $1 more than the pier lots, shaded, just as close to the pier as most of the parking lots, and hard to lose
• breeze blowing the whole time - just enough to keep it a little cool
• water not cold enough to take your breath away when you step in, or warm enough to be uncomfortable (tepid), clear, and rather unpopulated
• plenty of room on the sand with surprisingly few tourists

Laundry!

Yes, doing laundry is a good thing around here. Especially using a brand spankin new, low water usage, high energy efficiency washer and dryer set.

I was having problems with my shawl. That's what I get for trying to knit in the dark, but...

after unravelling 3 rows and picking up all the stitches again, I got the right stitch count back. On a roll again! Yeah buddy!!

Also managed to get the laundry room cleaned out enough to be able to put the washer and dryer in there when they're delivered.
