Today
My little pippers are singing. The sun is out. I am not. HAHA!!
27 April 2012
Yeah buddy.
Thanks to the generosity of certain people paying in advance for outcalls, I will be having brand new, under warranty, energy saving laundry equipment delivered on Thursday. You know who you are, even if HIPPAA prevents my putting your names out there.
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
Allergies are in the way.
It's hard to concentrate on the happy when your eyes are gritty and itche, and your nose runs like a fauchet. However, it can be done!
Yesterday I got to talk to both Kevin and Jessie. I miss being just a goofball with him, and I've never really had the chance to talk to Jessie at all, even though they're engaged. It's been too long.
Jow and I went to trivia last night with Carolyn and her crew, and had a ball.
Joe is most certainly feeling better! He's up and moving, went out with Matt for a while, and we stayed up a long while last night talking and such. Good things. Important things.
Today I'm picking up an extra hour at work, then an outcall, then Joe and I have the afternoon to spend as we wish. Life is pretty darned good.

... and again!
In my defense, I didn't get home until well after 11. Which, in itself, is kind of unusual, and being able to hang out with friends is a happy thing.
There were quite a few other... somethings... that I was going to put in for yesterday, but have forgotten them all.
Such is life.

MIssed yesterday. Again.
But I have an excuse! I don't blog when there are people over, and there was a people over. So there.
Yesterday was just gorgeous! Cool, crisp, with the sun shining all over the place. Even better? I was done with work by 11. HAHA!!
Not only that, but yesterday's chiropractic adjustment (treatment for the car accident) went exceedingly well. It felt like I could actually move for the first time since the beginning of February. The effect wore off within a few hours, but for those few hours, it was THERE.

Weather
It's gorgeous outside! Just a half a touch chilly, sun shining all over the place, nice breeze... I'm about half tempted to call in dead for the afternoon and go play!
(Not that I would, mind, but MAN is the temptation ever there!)

A "gift" of sorts
I had an outcall (well, two, but at the same house) this afternoon. While working on the female half of the couple, I mentioned trying to save up enough for a washer and dryer to avoid having to go to the laundromat anymore. At the end of both sessions, the couple talked about it while I was cleaning up and packing things away, and paid for the next five sessions in advance.
Almost enough for a brand new washer/dryer pair (on sale) including delivery and installation.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Yesterday and today
Yesterday:
Discovered Levi's size 8 jeans fit perfectly. Bought multiple pairs for $20 apiece.
Haircut!
Jumped in a rain puddle!
Walked around the flea market with Joe. It was nice for both of us to be out of the ho use.
Today:
Pippy little birdies, and quiet in the apartment otherwise.
Nommy weight loss shake (seriously, if you haven't tried the Body by Vi stuff? It's well worth it. Check it out!)
Sun shining through the windows...
... and it's not even noon yet!

A few things...
All the bills are paid, and there's still a little left over.
Joe and I are going out on a nice, sunny day - at least for a little while. He's still not quite healthy, but the sunshine will do him good.
Things at work have started to pick up a little bit.
Life is really just coming together right now.

Makeup
Or, rather, lack thereof. I don't wear it. I don't feel the need to cover my imperfections, scars, and zits - especially with chemical compounds that only make more zits, and causes the wearer to look fake. Less expense, less time to get ready in the morning, less to worry about throughout the day (OMG!! Did my mascara smear when I wiped my eye??), and more of just me.
I have a follower.
You.
Yes, you.
I see you lurking in the glow of your monitor/phone screen. Come out and say hi. Add your happy for today. It doesn't hurt for long. Promise!

Missed another one, huh?
This is where I laugh at myself. This whole "daily" thing isn't working out so well. Ha!
Yesterday's happy things: Joe is feeling MUCH better, and the Doc gave me a special assignment for work. Dun dun DUUUNNN!!!
Today's happy thing (so far): oversleeping the alarm by about a half an hour and still being on time out the door. HA HA!! ... just had to skip the coffee to do it, but there's a Dunkin' on the way to work. Woot.

From another list:
Greetings,
... I don't know if this is common knowledge, but I found out today that,
as part of their 50th anniversary celebration, the journal medieval
archaeology put its first 50 issues online for free.
See the link for issues 1-50 on this page:
http://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/ archives/view/med_arch/ ?CFID=5230158&CFTOKEN=69363926
Issue 28, for example, includes late-Saxon textiles and a carved bone
backgammon board; it is a rich and varied source of excellent research
that was previously difficult to lay your hands on in the US.
Please feel free to cross-post anywhere you think is useful.
Squeeeee!

I missed one!
I missed a HTAD! ...with good reason. I had outcalls all day yesterday, and we got the bed. Not just "yeah, we got the bed" like I've been saying, but we GOT the bed! As in they brought it over yesterday, we set it up, and got to sleep in a bed last night, instead of trying to share a twin sized air mattress. It was fabulous!
There are a few happy things for today, too. I sold my bike! Getting $1100 for it - asked 12, but getting 11, which is not bad at all. That means the bills are covered. Woot!
I woke up IN A BED today!! And even got to sleep in a little bit!
And now? Slurpees. Yeah buddy.

A bed! A bed! My kingdom for... Oh. Right.
Joe's parents are giving us their bed. They're getting a new one, and are more than aware that we've been sleeping on a twin sized air mattress - a tight fit, that! Tomorrow morning we will be receiving the old frame, box spring, and mattress. They will be replacing them with all new.
That makes the Groupon invalid, but hey! I spent $50 on the darned thing. A $50 bed isn't half bad!
They also stocked up on some groceries for us. What might be the most important is the bottled water. All we've got is the tap stuff, and it leaves something to be desired.
On top of that, my plants are looking healthier than they have in a long while. The ones I planted last week are perking up nicely, and seem to enjoy sitting by the two windows.
An old client that fell off the face of the earth some time ago reappeared. There may be an outcall in the near future!
Also, homework! See what I did??
I'm so proud of me!! Even if the picture of the piece turned out rather horribly, since it was taken with my phone. One of my facebook friends has even offered to buy it from me. That makes me think that maybe - just maybe - I should do up some more and try to sell them locally. It couldn't hurt!

Groupon!
Yep! That infamous coupon site. I've been needing to invest in a bed (the camping air mattress isn't holding up well, and neither is my back). Today's groupon? Massive savings on a mattress set. Yeah buddy. I couldn't really afford it, but REALLY couldn't afford to not get it. Make sense?

Clients and Coworkers
My clients are awesome people! Everything from a well-needed cash housewarming gift to leads for jobs to simple genuine appreciation for the relief of pain. It's been a good day.
As for coworkers... If the link works, the dude hidden by the microphone? Yeah. That's my coworker. Fan-freaking-tabulous! Tigerweather, being awesome!

School stuffs
Ha!! Just got major kudos from my professor on an unfinished project. You know, the one that was due Sunday? Yeah... Turned in what was done and he about flipped his lid (well, as close as I think he gets) on the critique video.
I win.
Secondary win: coming home and taking a nice, long nap. Especially since I haven't been sleeping all that well to begin with. Oh yeah.

Repairs
There was a list of things that needed repaired in the apartment. All of them are done except one - the guys need to order a replacement door for the bathroom under sink cabinet.
Boom.
Boom.

Family
Yep, family. Even though it's not mine.
I spent the afternoon with Joe's (the significant other's) family. It was... much quieter than I remember our family gatherings to be, with fewer people trying to talk over each other, and less going on. It was still good to be a (small) part of it all.

Revision
Today was better than a simple realization. As soon as I stepped out the door, the day spoke to me. The sun was shining, there was a nice breeze, the temperature was perfect... It was one of those days that screamed to leave the worries of life behind and go play like a child would do. It was a day that, just a few years ago, would have started me off on some sort of life changing adventure. Those of you that have known me for a long while know exactly the type of thing I mean - the move to Montana, packing the hiking bag and disappearing for a few months, deciding to throw away almost everything and start over from scratch, things like that.
It started that way, and hasn't ended yet. Today was a day that makes a person look forward to the rest of their life.

60+
I scored over 60 points by placing one letter in Words With Friends! HAHA!!!
... ok, so that happened yesterday, but I realized this morning exactly how awesome that is. It's still a pick me up.
Today? Today, there will be furniture! A friend is trading an older big screen TV and a dresser/mirror set for massage. This will be good. That means the clothes can be put away, instead of having to dig through boxes to get dressed. It's a win!

Inspiration!
A facebook friend of mine recent put as part of a status update:
"Must start making myself putting positive things in here."
Then she did. After a really harsh couple of years, she made the conscious effort to point out the positive aspects in her life.
This is not a new idea to me. At one point I had multiple "blank" books, journals, whatever you want to call them, that had been filled with nothing but small things that had come to mind throughout the day. Things that caused a momentary smile, or an inner giggle, or that just brought some sort of small inspiration into my life. It took years to fill them, and one ex to make them disappear.
Now, there is blogging. Blogging is a major pastime for many people. Not for me, so much, but it exists! So the idea came that - well gee - why not use a blog to blurt out my little "happy things" for everybody to see? Why not leave the comment section open for others to share their own, if they so desire? So I took the time to set this up this morning. I found a happy little background (When life gives you lemons, add vodka and party!) and got to work.
Woot.
Now, for my happy thing: An apartment! It's silly, but I haven't had a place all on my very own since 1998. My son was born in '99. By that time I was living with my (now ex) husband. It's been a string of living with other people ever since. Not that living with other people is a bad thing, mind, but that it's not been on my own. Not that living alone is going to last - I mean, really, I've spent all of one night alone since moving into the place - or that the company won't be welcome. It's the idea that it was my hard work that made this possible. And a little intervention from above. Yanno?
